About Space Entropy
Space Entropy is an experimental prototype sci-fi/mystery game. It's aim is to explore emergent narative through interconnected gameplay systems. The players take the role of a scientist, stranded in a forgotten planet. Their purpose is to explore the surface and collect various materials and specimens which will help them find out the planet's secrets and unravel its mysteries. The players can also find several ways to interact and use these materials to create new gameplay possibilities by crafting items, altering the environment and interacting with the world. The game does not incorporate any linear storytelling or objectives, instead, it tries to provide a sandbox environment where players are able to create their own diverse stories and narratives based on their unique gameplay experience.
Space Entropy is the product of my research on emergent narrative through systemic gameplay design for my Master's thesis during my studies at the department of Game Design & Technology in the University of Gothenburg.
